Est. 1886

Established in Ballymoney in 1886 as a butter and egg buyer, James Pollock & Son opened a Grocers shop not long after.

During the 1930’s we diversified into farming, agricultural contracting and selling seed.

In the 1960’s, as Bord na Móna agents for peat briquettes and the “Deep Litter System” for chicken houses, local growers and nursery owners began asking us to supply peat pots and peat moss from Bord na Móna and so we began transitioning into horticulture.

Over 60 years later we’re still in the horticulture trade as Northern Ireland’s longest standing horticultural supplier. Now with over 140 years and five generations as a family owned business we work to keep the horticulture trade growing on the island of Ireland.
